Hello dear reader,
“How much alcohol should I buy for my party?”
It’s an ancient question! Literally, the Wedding at Cana story in the Bible is famous because Jesus was at a wedding that ran out of wine. Instead of relying on a miracle every single time you throw a party, though, I recommend just doing some quick calculations before going shopping. And unlike the planners of the Wedding at Cana, you, dear reader, have the Internet to help you.
Unfortunately, like so much of the Internet, it’s way too easy to find garbage information. So I’ve combed the Web for the best beverage planning guides and calculators – some of which I have used before when planning parties – and rounded them up all in one place for you.
And finally: Thou Shalt Not Forget The Ice! Plan on about 1.5 or 2 pounds of ice per person, with more in hot weather and/or if you’ll need ice for serving frozen blended drinks.
